In Stan Turel's book Plague of Justice, a 2008 true crime novel about the murder of his father Jim, Turel claims he found the Ha Ha Ha manuscript in 1974 in the Columbia Bookkeeping Office that his late father, Jim owned and operated and where suspect Rod Addicks worked. He further claimed that in early 1983 a detective working on the case brought the book in and stated that he believe Rod Addicks wrote it.

This is the only documented instance of supposed authorship of Ha Ha Ha.
